Give parents something to remember on the show round

On a show round, the indoor rooms are what parents compare. The outdoor space is what they remember. We design, make and install timber canopies, covered play areas, playhouses and sandpits for nurseries across Wales, all made in our own factory in Ystrad Mynach and installed by our own team.

[ What it changes ]

Somewhere the children use every day.

The garden does the selling.

Parents walk round in ten minutes and make a decision that lasts three years. A proper covered play area is the thing they picture their child in.

Outside stays open when it rains.

Under-fives need to get outside every day, not just on dry ones. A canopy over the play area means the doors stay open in February.

Built to take a full day of under-fives.

Nursery equipment gets climbed on, sat on and rained on from opening to closing. Ours is made from solid timber in our own workshop, by joiners who will come back and look at it if anything is wrong.

[ Why Craft Wales ]

Made in Wales, for nurseries across Wales.

The National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare expect outdoor play space to normally be provided, and Care Inspectorate Wales will look at how you use it. What we build is designed to be used every day of the year, not just in the summer term.

Everything is made by our own team in Ystrad Mynach and installed by the same people who made it. There is no subcontractor, no imported flat pack and no waiting on a supplier in England. If something needs attention in three years, the people who built it are the people who answer the phone.

[ What we build for nurseries ]

Built for a full day of under-fives.

Canopies and covered play

A dry outdoor space the children can use every day, whatever the weather.

Playhouses

Somewhere to disappear into, and the first thing they run to in the morning.

Sandpits

Built with a lid, so it is ready to use rather than full of rain.

Small benches and picnic tables

Sized for little legs, built to take daily use.

Planters and growing beds

Raised beds at the right height for small hands.

Learning panels and shapes

Including our Welsh-language range, made for Welsh-medium and bilingual settings.

Fire circles and forest school

A proper place to sit for outdoor sessions.

Bespoke pieces

If you have an idea and a space, we will come and look at it.

Accessible planters and ponds

Raised so a wheelchair user can reach them, with the planter edge doubling as a seat.

[ Working in your nursery ]

Safe hands on a live site.

A nursery does not close for the summer, so any work has to fit around children being on site. Here is what you need to know before you say yes.
