[ What we build ]
Carved timber signage, waymarkers and interpretation boards for parks, trails, schools and attractions. We carve in Welsh and English as standard.
[ The range ]
The first thing people see when they arrive, carved and finished to suit the setting.
Marking a route through a park, a wood or a school ground.
Telling people what they are looking at, built to stand out in the weather.
Lockable boards for villages, parks and community buildings.
School names, badges and garden entrances, carved into the timber.
Carved dedications for benches, gardens and memorial areas.
[ Bilingual as standard ]
Public bodies in Wales work to Welsh language standards, and signage is one of the most visible parts of that. We carve and router in Welsh and English every week, so working in both languages is normal for us rather than a special request.
That means the layout is planned around both languages from the start, so neither one ends up squeezed in or set smaller than the other.

[ Refurbishment ]
We refurbish existing timber signage and seating rather than replacing it, which is often the better answer when a budget will not stretch to new. We re-topped the bench tops in Ystrad Mynach town centre in European green oak, with sunk and capped fixings.
[ How they are built ]
Galvanised steel posts are concreted into the ground and the timber legs sit over them, so the timber never sits in wet ground.
Locally sourced oak and sweet chestnut, alongside Douglas fir, larch and spruce, from managed forests.
Everything is finished in an oil-based product, and we recommend re-coating each spring.
Every structure is drawn by hand, to scale, before anything is cut.

Everything we make is finished in an oil-based product, and we recommend re-coating each spring. That stops the timber cracking and splintering, keeps the water out and slows the algae that makes a surface slippery.
On a yearly maintenance plan we come back, inspect the timber, make good any minor damage and re-spray it. In year five we add an anti-fungal treatment.
[ How we work ]
We come to you, measure up and talk through what you need.
We draw it up by hand, to scale, and give you a fixed price.
